The Mark V (Mark 5), also known by it's names as the "Football" and Suitcase Armor, is an Emergency Suit, and was the fifth designed and created by . It is the first armor to feature a new portable system that can fold itself into a briefcase and be deployed for use in civilian areas.

Second, in order cut weight further we have to cut the weight of the actual plating, and this is probably the most important part of the design of our Suitcase armor. Tony Stark and Stark enterprises would have used a variety of metals in their weapon systems. One choice for a lighter metal alloy to replace the Gold-Titanium alloy of the Iron Man suit would be Magnesium. Magnesium is the lightest structural metal and is half the weight of Titanium, and while Magnesium is difficult to work with certainly Tony Stark could figure out how to make it work for the suit.
Either way, you’d probably kill to have your own set of suitcase armor to call your own. That’s ultimately what makes this Iron Man 2 Tony Stark Mark V Briefcase Replica so disappointing. Sure, on the outside its all machine brushed aluminum and red iron, just like in Iron Man 2… but open it up and bam! Nothing!
